About Us - Our Approach

Our Story
We met over 15 years ago, brought together by a shared passion for hospitality, travel, and the joy of bringing people together through food.
Our journey began in some of the world’s most prestigious establishments — from the legendary Four Seasons and Aman Resorts in France, to the acclaimed Chez Vincent in Orlando, Florida. We continued to hone our craft in Amsterdam, before making Australia home in 2015.
For the next seven years, Kevin and I worked as Restaurant Manager for the Reymond Group, leading the floor at L'Hotel Gitan and Frederic.
In time, we followed our dream and opened our own restaurant: Tapenade. It quickly became a beloved local gem, known for its warm atmosphere and French flair.
But after 5 years as the realities of running a small business set in, we made the difficult decision to close — a choice made with heavy hearts.
Yet, our love for this industry was far from over. Hospitality isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. And so, Maison Catering by Laurie & Kevin was born. A new chapter rooted in passion, excellence, and the belief that every event, big or small, deserves food and service crafted with heart.
